Hi Hans,

It's probably worth calling MultiTech to ensure they have no known
compatibility issues with your Kernel version.

I'd also suggest that you have the latest firmware and try a number of
different country code settings.

Does your Minicom test work every time ?  Are you using exactly the same AT
commands in your tests ?  What happens if you try this on a line in a
different building ?

But still getting allot of failed faxes with the following status. 

No local dialtone; too many attempts

I would be very surprised if this happens on HylaFAX+ 5.2.0.

Try putting a bit of a pause into your dialstring like this:

ModemDialCmd:   ATDT,,%s
