Kill any instance of t38modem that may be running
Start t38modem with the command line you see in my preious email.
Check that you have both /var/spool/hylafax/FIFO.ttyx0 and FIFO.ttyx1
Check that you have both /var/spool/hylafax/etc/config.ttyx0 and config.ttyx1
Have faxgetty running on both ttyx0 and ttyx1
sendfax -n -h ttyx0@ -d 0123 testfax
it will be sent using ttyx0 and received on ttyx1
Once this works you know for sure your local setup is ok, then you can
restart t38modem using the command line you need to use the media
gateway.

You don't need to use a terminal window for each connection, just a
single terminal window to issue the above commands. Don't use "cu"
while testing fax send/receive.
