Hmm -- seems you've got a stricter C++ compiler than most. Does
putting the obvious cast in place help? ie.

char *cp = (char*)strchr(client.getLastResponse(), '(');

That change does enable me to compile all the binaries.

I've made that change in HylaFAX+ CVS now. It will be in 5.1.12. Thanks to you and to Charles.

Maybe my man page is innaccurate?

I would suspect a bug(?) in the C library or in the compiler. It's no matter, though. We have a workaround.

But: I installed those 5.1.11 binaries on my machine and on a customer's
machine, and my customer's machine cannot send me a fax:

	faxstat -s on the sender complains about "No receiver protocol".
	xferlog on the receiver complains about "No sender protocol".

This means that the two aren't "hearing" each other. The sender cannot hear fax signalling from the receiver and vice-versa. Start by figuring out which one of the two is the culprit by testing with some other known-good equipment between them.

Thanks,

Lee.
