I recommend that you grab the libtiff-3.7.2-4.src.rpm from here (yes,
the 3.7.2 and not the 3.8.2):
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=148904
Then pull out the patches from there and use them (except maybe not
the ITULAB patch as you probably don't need that) against libtiff
3.7.2. I've had problems with libtiff 3.8.2 and now 3.9.0, so I'm
using 3.7.2 in virtually all of my production deployments. My
production deployments are all running off of RPMs built from that
libtiff-3.7.2-4.src.rpm file.
Works much better; the tiffsplit/tiffcp approach WORKSFORME with this
libtiff. As an aside, though, the itulab patch doesn't appear to
compile with gcc 4.1.2:
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I. -O2 -pipe -MT
tif_jpeg.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/tif_jpeg.Tpo -c tif_jpeg.c -fPIC -DPIC
-o .libs/tif_jpeg.o
tif_jpeg.c:283: error: 'JCS_ITULAB' undeclared here (not in a function)
tif_jpeg.c: In function 'JPEGPreDecode':
tif_jpeg.c:875: error: incompatible types in assignment
Your libjpeg needs to be patched before compiling libtiff wit hthe
itulab patch. So I think that you probably don't have a patched
libjpeg... and since you're only interested in JBIG right now... this
shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks,
Lee.
