Re: [hylafax-users] Hylafax 2.4.4.1-3 on Ubuntu 7.04 Libtif 3.8.2-6

Many thanks for the reply

Being new to Linux I may have misquoted the version no

I am running Ubuntu 7.04 and the version no of Hylafax reported in the
package manager is 2.4.3.1.

As best I can determine this is actually version 4.3.1 of Hylafax and
for some reason Ubuntu put a 2 in front of it.

If I try and update from the Debian archive it tells me I have the
latest versions of everything.

When Hylafax receives a fax it produces a tiff file in
/var/spool/hylfax/recvq which is perfect (around 40k for an A4 page).

However the in email received from Postfix the attached tiff file is
only 248 bytes and is unreadable.

I am not sure if the tiff file in the email is created by a different
process or whether the tiff file in /var/spool/hylafax is attached to
the file as a mime attachment.

Could it be a mime encoding issue?

Have searched forums etc but cannot find any description of the same
problem.

Regards

Jeff W

Please grep /var/log/messages for the faxrcvd command that HylaFAX is
running to receive those faxes, then try running one by hand, as root,
from the /var/spool/hylafax directory. Do you see any error messages, or

does is complete cleanly?

Was the 4.4.1-3 package an upgrade from a previous install? Did you run
faxsetup after upgrading? If not, please do.
