Note that the latest release of HylaFAX is 4.4.1. If you're using 5.x, then it's actually HylaFAX+. It's different software, and so the changes to notify/faxrcvd will be different depending upon which version you use. Most of Lee's upgrade advice about HylaFAX+ will apply to HylaFAX, but HylaFAX's inbound fax notifications use templates in a different way, which might be something you want to bear in mind if you ever decide to run HylaFAX again. If the changes you've made to 'notify' and others were done to acheive some specific branding, or 'look and feel', this feature might be of interest and might mean you can do what you're looking for and not have to maintain any custom notify scripts at all (just templates). If the changes are programmatic in nature, it's often best to put them into FaxDispatch/FaxNotify/PollDispatch instead of in HylaFAX's core scripts anway.

Shalom everyone !
I'm currently using Hylafax 4.3.3 installed with the fc6 rpm.
I want to upgrade to 5.1.8 (hylafax-5.1.8-1fc7.i386.rpm)
What's the best upgrade path ? Remove the 4.3.3 rpm and the install 5.1.8 rpm, or just install the new one over the old ?
If I install over, will it keep all the changes I've made to "notify" and others, Or will I need to change things at the new version manually ?

Tips would be appreciated !
