Re: [hylafax-users] rockforce octo and multitech MultiModemISI

Hi Uwe,

>Sorry, you missed my point on embedded. PCI-Express precludes embedded.

I'm not sure of your definition of 'embedded'. We have customers deploying
fax systems in Neoware box's (2" x 11" x 8" - see attached photo) running
Windows XP Embedded or Linux from flash discs. We also have customers
developing systems based on Mini-ITX motherboards (6" x 6"). Both support
PCI Express and can scale from 1 to 8 fax ports.

My guess is that with an external modem and extra power supply you must be
using a similar volume to our 'embedded' customers.

The list price for the 1 port IQ Express is $249. It's a 1 port product
requiring only 1 line.

This is rather US$20; but aside from speed our clients are pretty happy.

We have extensively tested the OCM and it doesn't meet our requirements for
a reliable fax solution that can achieve 0.1% or better. OCM was never as
good as Venus.... CFAX will blow both of them away.

Great !
