No difference. It reports back- RING RING RING RING...... whether I dial standard number or distinctive number. I don't have a manual (purchased these used and even then modems rarely come with a proper manual). > That's your problem! You should be seeing "RING RING" for a normal double > ring, "RING" for a French-style long single ring or maybe "RING RING RING" > for a triple ring, depending which number you called. Check your modem > manual for the appropriate command to enable distinctive ring recognition > and to see what the results should be for each ringing envelope. > > I think some modems may even produce a more complex report giving the > actual on and off timings of each ring. -- Michael Hallager net trust ltd www.networkstuff.co.nz p.09 839-1000 ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
