Re: [hylafax-users] should I worry about DIS/DTC received 3 times; DCS not recognized
Hi Francesco,
Are you losing any fax's ? If not and the quality is OK then I guess the
answer would be 'not today'.... the Conexant SmartACF/SCM modems do have
lots of compatibility issues and eventually you will find some machines that
you cannot talk to. At that point update to the latest HylaFAX or HylaFAX+
and if this doesn't help then get yourself a decent fax card.

Subject: [hylafax-users] should I worry about DIS/DTC received 3 times; DCS
not recognized
Hello,
I'm running a server since some days, I have a couple of questions. I
tried searching the archives but nothing popped out.
The server is linux ubuntu edgy, hylafax installed from package,
version is 4.3.0. Modems are cheap conexant/rockwell P2109-V90 and
connected via a multiserial MOXA pci adapter (8 ports) they are
configured as class 1 even if they do support class 2. I see on logs
the following error: DIS/DTC received 3 times; DCS not recognized,
about twice each 50 fax sent.
Should I worry about it? There's something I can change in the config?
I also noticed that the faxaddmodem script gave the following default
on the config.ttyXX files:
ModemSetupDTRCmd: AT&D2
Reading the manual, it seems to me that &D3 is the correct setting to
reset the modem after a drop of DTR signal. Both setting though seems
to work fine in my setup. Again, I'd like hints from the experienced
users.
Best regards
Francesco
