First off, why is your modem not attempting V.17, at least? Have you deliberately disabled V.17 use?

Secondly, the fact that we had to retrain down to V.27ter 4800 seems to indicate line trouble ... or at least an incompatibility with the V.29 modulators (however, those seemed to have been fine up until now).

Here the modem crashed while transferring the data. This could possibly be because it recognized a hangup by the receiver... or it could be a modem bug... or a serial driver bug.
