You should probably first try placing the board in the machine, and after booting go to a command line and type 'dmesg | egrep tty' to see if all the ports were automatically setup. If you do not see 8 new tty numbers assigned to a single IRQ, then it is likely only 4 ports were automatically configured. At that point you would need to rebuild the kernel with support for more ports according to the instructions in the link below. Thank you, Derrek Sypert Mainpine, Inc. I wanted to know if there any precautions I need to take before going ahead with installation. Additionally one which device ports will these modems get installed? Normal serial modems get installed on ttyx - what will it be for "The Mainpine RockForce Octo+ 8-line PCI card"? > >Thanks & Regards >Suraj Jadhav Thanks & Regards Suraj Jadhav ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
