Wow! Do You have translation software under *nix ?
Probably OpenOffice will do this, but i am not sure.

Typicaly client run necessary application, which print document to PostScript
file. That file will be send to faxserver. For MS-doc client opens MsWord
and performs printing operation. Unfortunately i don't know any hylafax client
with this feature.
