Re: [hylafax-users] what is the good modem to use with hylafax 4.3.0 ?

Yes, I do have some other modems, but they can't answer a fax call (Ring detected without successful handshake). They are US Robotics 33600 Faxmodem (old model from year 1995).
Even if i switch them to class 1 and 2 and then back again to class 1, the same err happenned.
Most of my modems, the rockwell i'm using now is the most working modem, even some error still happened.

Recently I build up fax server using hylafax. And I noticed that several bug (informed by Lee), may be a modem bug. Right now, i'm using rockwell modem K56 V92 with class 1.0. Is there anyone using any "stable / good modem" that works perfectly till now ? I want to buy another modem to be used as fax modem, but don't know the brand / type name.

I was really kind of hoping that you had some (any) other kind of modem available to you (borrow for a day?) simply to test with that would help discern whether the bulk of your problems were modem-related or were elsewhere.

Normally the Rockwell/Conexant chipsetted-modems are more reliable than what you've shown me.

Lee.
