I'd appreciate any help with this problem. Our hylafax server is
normally very reliable but lately has stopped receiving faxes.
It runs on a Redhat 9 server. Faxes start to be recieved but then the
fax does not complete.

Have you power-cycled the modem and restarted faxgetty afterwards?
I'd also recommend an upgrade from 4.1.8, but that's certainly your call
on that.
