With a little CVS work, you can get a diff between any of the tagged 
releases. In your case (assuming your shell is bash):

export CVSROOT=:pserver:cvs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:/cvsroot
cvs login (enter the password string which is simply "cvs")
cvs rdiff -u -r HYLAFAX-4_2_3 -r HYLAFAX-4_2_4 hylafax > 
hylafax-4.2.3-to-4.2.4.diff

Here's an example of some of the recent tags you can use as '-r' arguments:

HYLAFAX-4_2_2
HYLAFAX-4_2_3BETA1
HYLAFAX-4_2_3BETA2
HYLAFAX-4_2_3RC1
HYLAFAX-4_2_3
HYLAFAX-4_2_4
HYLAFAX-4_2_5RC1
