It this a way to do that with gettext?

Why, I have compost a HylaFAX Pakage for the 'eisfair' projekt 
'http://www.eisfair.org' 
'http://www.pack-eis.de/index.php?p=hylafax' and same people ask my 
to change the output from faxrcvd and notify to german. So I was 
interessted.
