Re: [hylafax-users] How to Config Modem?

I'm in the process of installing HylaFAX 4.2.1_2 in my FreeBSD

install the regular fax/data setup.

Section 6.1 of the on-line instruction suggests you create the modem
config file prior to running faxaddmodem and provides templates to
facilitate.

These days that information is not particularly appropriate. That's why I rewrote that section which you'll currently see here:

http://hylafax.sourceforge.net/howto/tweaking.php#ss6.1

And, I'm not even sure that I've been appropriately clear yet, still. So run faxsetup and then run faxaddmodem. If the result works for you then great. If the result doesn't work, then send the probemodem output to the list, and we'll see what to do.

I will say this, though. I believe that the MT5656 uses the Conexant chipset. You'll do well to upgrade to 4.2.2 in order to make use of improved +FCERROR handling or AT+FAR=1 support.

Thanks,

Lee.
