Hi Daniel.

It's unlikely that you will ever get your fax to run over a VoIP line
reliably.  If you have a search through the HylaFAX archives you will get a
detailed discussion of why not.

We ran a bunch of tests on a VoIP 'dedicated fax' line in the USA and UK
using a bunch of fax machines, fax modems, and fax boards..... It never
worked reliably.  I would suggest that you invest in a POTS line because
it's going to be a lot cheaper than the time you will waste on getting this
to work.

Hi Everyone,

I've had Hylafax setup for a week or so now without any problems. I have
moved my line over to VoIP and since then have had issues with "No Response
to PPS repeated 3 times." If I send one or two pages it seems to be fine,
but when I send something bigger I have this error.

The VoIP provider has a specific fax line configured for me but they say it
is only on trial. I was wondering if the issue may be caused from
mis-transmission or Hylafax not waiting long enough for the response.

If this is so, how should I slow down the transmission to make it work more
effectively?

I am using a Class 1 modem. The brand seems Unique to Australia "Spirit
Magnum V.92" and Slackware 10.1
