Hi, I'm sure sure you've all seen this question many times but I really can't fix it. So I hope someone know how to get it working. I have Hylafax-4.2.1-r1 installed on my Gentoo box. My modem is an external, serial modem that is hooked up on com1. The modem itself works fine because I can communicate with it with minicom. I can start the faxserver but any fax I send stays in the queue and won't be send. It's like the faxserver doesn't know there is a modem. When I run probemodem, I get this: *** Serial port that modem is connected to []? ttys0 Now we are going to probe the tty port. This takes a few seconds, so be patient. Note that if you do not have the modem cabled to the port, or the modem is turned off, this may hang (just go and cable up the modem or turn it on, or whatever). Probing for best speed to talk to modem: Unable to deduce DTE-DCE speed; check that you are using the correct device and/or that your modem is setup properly. If all else fails, try the -s option to lock the speed. *** I'm desperately trying to get this working for a few days now. I really hope some can help me out here. I posted a question in the Gentoo forums but that gave me nothing: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-356588-highlight-.php Thanks for your time anyway :) Mario -- If Linux doesn't have the solution, you have the wrong problem ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
