If you look at the archives of this list you'll find you are not the first
to report something similar.
You could set
SessionTracing: 0xFFF
ServerTracing: 0xFFF
in config.<device> (warning: the latter will fill rapidly your
/var/log/messages) and when the problem occurs you'll see exactly what is
the point in which the modem doesn't answer and ask linuxant about it.
