The problem here is that the sender transmitted some frame that we 
received in error (and your logging isn't set high enough to say what, 
exactly, that was), and then it didn't retransmit it, but transmitted DCN 
(disconnect) instead.

So, we could improve on hearing the first frame better, but the sender is 
not following spec.
