strace? poing? My english->german dictionary does not give me a clue!

Have you seen:
	http://bugs.hylafax.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=455

It does not take 100% of CPU time, when it happens. It just freezes. So I assume, it is not this.

The really bad thing about it is, that new faxes arriving will not be rejected and not be received either.

I think it is not enough to rely on the busy signal to tell incomming faxes, that they have to wait.

My initial thought was to have hylafax receiving faxes after one ring and thus saving paper. If that did not work, a spare paper fax should answer after 3 rings. But with this bug the fallback system gets no chance.

This is fixed in cvs HEAD.

4.1.9 (when it comes) will have it.
Can you try CVS head (or apply that patch to 4.1.8)?

a.

This issue has been discussed many times already.
One solution is to install patch.

http://bugs.hylafax.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=378

I have done that implicitely by updating to Hyla 4.1.7.

That did not solve the problem. I was using a USR Modem
with Class 2.0, which I should not as I have heard.
I switched to Class 1 but the problem persists. I switched
to Elsa Microlink 33000 (which only does Class 2.0) and
Problem still remains.

Sometimes it goes fine for days and then a fax comes
in and faxgetty hangs. The only way to recover
is to kill -9 faxgetty pid.

I have this on different machines, but they are all SuSE 8.2.

I saw, that there is also a linux kernel incompatibility. Does
anybody know to which kernel Version I have to update? Unfortunatley I can not downgrade.
