[hylafax-users] Password required and fonts missing

Hi, I've just started using hylafax to replace our nightmarishly-buggy
winfax fax->email setup.

Let me say first, Hylafax rocks! Kudos to all those who contributed to it!

Background: Hylafax 4.1.1 on Linux Debian Woody (3.0)

I've got 2 problems.
1) Whenever I try to run one of the utility programs (faxstat, faxmail etc)
I'm asked for a password. It's not any of the system passwords (I've tried
them all) and my development box, which I test-installed hylafax on first,
doesn't do it.

2) faxmail complains it can't find required fonts, even though I have all
the appropriate ghostscript font packages installed and hyla.conf configured
with the correct paths.

== hyla.conf:
Host:                   localhost
Verbose:                No
TimeZone:               local
DialRules:              "/etc/hylafax/dialrules"
FontMap:
/var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/fonts:/usr/share/ghostscript/fonts:/usr/share/ghos
tscript/common:/usr/share/gs/6.53
FontPath:
/var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/fonts:/usr/share/ghostscript/fonts:/usr/share/ghos
tscript/common:/usr/share/gs/6.53
==

== faxmail complaint:
Font com: /usr/share/gs/6.53/com: Can not open font metrics file; using
fixed widths.
Warning: n019004l.afm invalid Fontmap entry - no filename presentFont

Warning: n019023l.afm invalid Fontmap entry - no filename presentFont
