The fax numbers are faxed automatically from a database system and the
numbers are as specified by the clients; if they don't get their faxes,
they usually update their fax numbers, but some of them have employees
that shut off the fax machine at night too (believe it or not). It
would make a good Dilbert cartoon ...

For most of those errors, we've selected the ttyS2 modem manually in the
faxing routines now ...

You are correct for that log; a few nights ago it looked worse.
However, we only fax on the class 1 modem to the specific customers who
we've had the most problems with on the class 2 modems. <feature
type=request>Per-phone-number modem group specifications would be
wonderful!</feature> We do this in our own software right now.
