Other than that, this looks fairly good. Have you verified immediately after a "no carrier" or "no answer" by calling the number on a handheld that there is, indeed, a fax machine there answering? > Modem: ttyS1 (MT2834BA, Class 2, with a fix flashed in) > Total faxes > sent: 391 > > Error No Rate/1000 > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > RSPREC error/got DCN 3 7.7 > RSPREC error/got DCN; Giving up after 3 attempts to 2 5.1 > No response to EOP repeated 3 times; Giving up after 1 2.6 > No response to EOP repeated 3 times 4 10.2 > T.30 T2 timeout, expected page not received 1 2.6 > No carrier detected; too many attempts to dial 17 43.5 > No carrier detected 73 186.7 > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Total 101 258.3 Obviously there's a problem with the MT2384BAs and "RSPREC error/got DCN". > Modem: ttyS2 (MT5600BL, Class 1) > Total faxes > sent: 234 > > Error No Rate/1000 > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Busy signal detected 2 8.5 > No response to MPS or EOP repeated 3 tries 1 4.3 > T.30 T2 timeout, expected page not received 3 12.8 > No local dialtone 1 4.3 > No carrier detected 4 17.1 > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Total 11 47.0 A total of 4 errors in 234. That's not very bad at all, especially considering that the sender/receiver probably successfully got the fax on the retry. So, what was the problem with Class 1 again? It certainly seems that the Class 1 error ratio is not anywhere near the Class 2 ratio.
