Running Mandrake 8.2, kde 2.2.2, CUPS system. After starting over from scratch with hylafax, I ran through faxmodem, faxaddmodem, and then started faxgetty and hylafax. I then tried to send a fax again (a simple text file from within kwrite). Nothing appears to have happened again. No send, no dialtone (I have the speaker set on), nothing. Why is it that they system "can not lock modem device"? Does it really need to? Is there a way to jig around this? I want/need to send a fax regardless of whether the system wants to lock the modem. praedor ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@hylafax.org.*
