Your correct.. There are other alternative for Caller-ID box functionality, but they don't work with Hylafax. If I use a CID application I loose fax capability on my modem. If I use Hylafax, I loose CID functionality. In order for this "much better" solution to work, I need an additional cid modem and an additional serial port on my computer. I think a "much better" solution to using one or the other is to have faxgetty who already has all the information make it available somehow.
