[hylafax-users] COMREC invalid response received

Hello,

I?m having problems with Hylafax 4.2beta2 on Suse 7.0. For some reason, I often get an error like:

?REMOTE HANGUP: COMREC invalid response received (code 102)? for a class 2 modem

or

?RECV FAX (00011271): session with 32 2 3600072 terminated abnormally: COMREC received DCN? on a class 1 modem.

In a test, I sent 3 faxes from the _same_ fax device, and the second resulted in a COMREC invalid response error (however I never got an error message back to my fax device). What does this error actually mean?

The system has 4 modems installed (2 internal class 2, 2 external class 1) which seem to be working properly (no irq conflicts) and I can send at-commands to all devices using ?cu?. We are only having this problem since we moved to another location. However, phone lines has been tested by our phone provider and they don?t see a quality problem over there. (Because I often get rejected faxes due to too many bad lines). About 2 faxes on 10 is having problems (and we get dozens of them every day).

During tests, only 1 of the modems was used at a time, but all modems seem to have problems. Sometimes this COMREC problem, sometimes ?RECV FAX (00011265): session with 32 15 454753 terminated abnormally: T.30 T2 timeout, expected page not received?

For my class 2 modems, Hylafax sets
?ModemSetupAACmd: AT+FAA=1+FCLASS=0 # enable in current class?
by default... shouldn?t this be FCLASS=2?

Any help would be much appreciated!
Regards,

Frido Roose
System engineer
