Dear Ekkehard,
I think that the problem are USR 33.6 modems VoiceFax; I have two modems and
none of them works with hylafax... I've substituted those modems with an
entry level one and hylafax works perfectly.

...But I've lost 3 weeks trying and trying again with USR.....
