Thanks! I wish I knew exactly, Bernd. My knowledge that HylaFAX handles serial ports differently than minicom is only based on experience, but I can't say why they are different. But I do know that ATH works fine with problem-modems in minicom from having tried it myself. The only confirmation of this that I've gotten outside of my own experience is reports of people who use minicom, cu, or tip to send commands just fine, but then it doesn't work from HylaFAX. Robert has mentioned once something in response to such reports that indicated that HylaFAX and these terminal proggies handle serial ports differently. All that I can say is that HylaFAX is more "demanding" and "intense". I, too, wish I knew why.
