Either 1 or 1.0 are your available fax Classes.  But since HylaFAX doesn't
use 1.0, then Class 1.  (Are you still using that PCTEL winmodem?)

Why don't you just run faxsetup and faxaddmodem now?

You must not be doing it right.  Press and hold CTRL, then press "A".
Then, let go of CTRL and A and then press X.
