Why are you using 4.1beta1 ?

Doesn't Mandrake 7.2 come with libtiff-3.5.x?  If so, it will be
incompatible with 4.1beta1.

Get the RH7 SRPM and do a 'rpm -ba hylafax.spec' to build your own RPMS, or
use CVS.
