I have installed Hylafax 4 on SuSE 7.0 I have read the FAQ on www.hylafax.org & accordingly setup hylafax. Whenever I try to send a fax by giving the following command sendfax -n -s A4 -D -d <Telephone No.> <Path/Filename>. I am using /dev/ttyS1 for my ZyXel 28.8 Modem & besides this I a symbolic link of ttyS1 to /dev/modem. On further investigation I found the following permissions : crw------- 1 uucp uucp 4, 65 Dec 8 12:30 /dev/ttyS1 whereas /dev/modem has 777 permission. Whenever I change the permission of /dev/ttyS1 to 777 then I don't get the error message in the log for Dec 8 12:13:05 linux FaxGetty[8229]: ANSWER: Can not lock modem device but, still i am unable to send the fax out. And, also my permissoin to /dev/ttyS1 resets back to crw------- 1 uucp uucp 4, 65 Dec 8 12:30 /dev/ttyS1 Could someone please help me.
