modem off: faxgetty sends thousands of warnings



Hello, 

how can I stop about 1 kilobyte warnings and 
other messages per minute sent from faxgetty while 
trying to access the modem (that is off 
electric current) ?????

Iīm running Hylafax with faxetty. I use my modem 
only for one time a day and so I turn off the 
electric current. Itīs because of security aspects, 
too.

Syslog-daemon canīt distinguish warning and normal 
messages from faxgetty between those of other processes. 

I start faxgetty with init-process. Can I stop and 
restart a process started with init ?



In /var/log/messages appears every half minute:
