flexfax: extend hylafax to answeringmachine

I set up a fine send/receive-faxserver.
now I think to extend the setup to a full answeringmachine.
are there any programs that can do that (based on hylafax)
as far I read in the faq one cant use "mgetty+sendfax" cause this is a complete solution that can not be used as extension to hylafax and
vice-versa.
