flexfax: hylafax running - no ppp-connection on the same modem?

I've succeeded in installing hylafax, sendfax works fine but when I try
to run wvdial - establishing a ppp-connection to my ISP - wvdial says:
Modem not responding. So, I suppose hylafax blocks my modem. Before I
ran mgetty and it worked fine with wvdial.
