Re: help! Hylafax system logging is broken!



You can change a line in your /etc/syslog.conf file , assuming you have
syslog installed.
Add a line such as


daemon.*                                        /var/spool/fax/etc/hfaxlog
# or whatever directory you want.

That should output all the hylafax messages into that file.
You can set the level of output messages in here by altering the config file
for hylafax.  There's doco on the website. , or if you do a man on "config"

your config file ...../var/spool/fax/etc/config   by default I think has a
line which references "daemon" as your logging facility.
I don't think you can really change it? - but you can add a line in that
config file
LogFacility:        daemon
to make sure.
