I use a program called "bb" which can monitor a number of services. I have it set to page me using the Hylafax paging module. The program will also automatically generate a web page with visual alerts. It currently monitors 17 routers and five hosts at my site. The program "bb" is available at http://MacLawran.ca/bb-dnld. Is is set to use kermit as it's paging mechanism but it is actually much simpler to use the sendfax program in the Hylafax software. _____________________________________________________________________________ Andy McNiece, Parr Lumber Co. andym@parr.com 5630 Five Oaks Drive Phone 503-614-2525 Hillsboro, Oregon USA 97124 Fax 503-629-8635 On Thu, 8 Oct 1998, Aaron Seelye wrote: > Hello, > > I've finally got hylafax installed, and now i want to setup a method of > getting paged whenever a server goes down, receiving mail, etc. The > problem i'm having is that the pager service my company uses is > Kelley's (if that factors into anything), and the way they're set up for > alpha-numeric pages is that you dial a phone number, input an id and a > pass (they are the same), and then send it along.
