[lurk mode OFF] Quite a fun little thread we have going here... To answer a few questions that I've seen popping up. 1) I did inform Ramana about the upcoming patch (ya gotta admire his keenness). 2) Is there any reason that we cannot rename the xferstat/xferlog for the next release? 3) Why not install the documentation in /usr/doc and add links to them in /var/httpd/... (or vice versa)? 4) I don't mind /usr/... as the install directory. Although, I can see one good reason why a newbie would like /usr/local/... : matt@hudson:~/src[58]% ls /usr/bin |wc -l 1006 matt@hudson:~/src[59]% ls /usr/local/bin |wc -l 55 5) I believe that Ramana did keep faxaddmodem and faxsetup in the package. > I have no problem sticking to the spelling. The source code on ftp.sgi.com > says hylafax-v4.0pl1.tar.gz. Is it possible for you to change its > name, because I have to refer to the original URL in RPM spec file. My intention was to let Ramana's RPM become the official version. I will still supply a tarball for those that aren't configuratively challenged. My RPM wasn't anything more than a tarball with package tracking. I had no interest in making it anything more complex so I welcome Ramana's efforts. >> 'faxsetup'. This is because the rpm doesn't have all the files. Also, >> ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ > > I meant the old rpm that was built by Matthew Rice didn't have all the > files. That was also one of the reasons I decided to build a new RPM. Seeing as the RPM is an exact (or should be) reflection of the tar'ed distribution I would like to know what is missing. I intentionally left out items from other packages (tiff utils, afm files, gawk, etc). Instead, I added references to these items in the linux specific README.
