USR 33.6 modem

I am running Linux 2.0.0 with HylaFax 4.0pl1 and am having trouble with my USR modem (which I
understand is common).
The system receives faxes fine, but outgoing faxes abort after dialing.

Here's the log file...

I understand this is not a new problem, but I have not found a definative answer or fix (if
there is one). I have an older Supra modem which works for Class 1 operation, but I'd prefer to
use my Sportster 33.6.

Thanks for any help.
