[hylafax-devel] bugzilla: help wanted
all,
As you may know, the hylafax.org bug tracking database is online now. We
have not announced it to the world or hylafax-users yet due to some outstanding
issues. The largest issue, in my mind, is that there are a number of
'components' of the HylaFAX 'product' (in bugzilla terms) that do not
have 'owners.' That is, there is no one configured as the default owner
of the components.
This is a request for volunteers to become the bugzilla owner of the
components of HylaFAX.
What does this entail? I don't anticipate it really means much more than
you, as the owner of a component, will be emailed a notification when a
new bug is entered for that component. The bugs will be added to the list
of "your" bugs. Once a bug becomes "yours", you can still reassign it to
another user if it makes sense to do so. It does not necessarily mean that
you must fix the bug yourself.
The components that still need owners are:
faxaddmodem
faxcover
faxgetty
faxq
faxrcvd
faxstat
hfaxd
sendfax
sendpage
source-build
If you are at all familiar with any of the above components or are willing
to help out in this way please let me know asap. I would like to open the
bug database to the general user population but don't think it makes sense
until we have owners for the various sub-components of HylaFAX.
I'd also like to mention that I've added a keyword 'helpwanted' to bugzilla.
Bug owners can add this keyword to their bugs to indicate that they need
help from others. Users can query for this keyword when they wish to see
how they can help.
