Q414: Can't send FAX from ZyXEL to some machines?

Q.

I can't send FAX from my ZyXEL to some machines?

Sending FAX to some (not all) machines from my ZyXEL 1496E+ doesn't work. The transmission aborts with the message:

Hylafax error: DTE to DCE data underflow...

and the problem in the log-file looks like:

Try disabling the use of ECM by adding

Class2DCCQueryCmd:      "!(0,1),(0-7),(0-4),(0-2),(0),(0),(0),(0-7)"

to your config. file. Information on this command can be found in hylafax-config(4F) and/or the HTML documentation.

If things work when you disable ECM then send mail to Brent Mosbrook brent@zyxel.com if it's ok to use the phone number to test for the apparent bug in the ZyXEL ECM support.

It appears the following error messages can also be caused by error correction mode bugs:

        REMOTE HANGUP: Unknown hangup code (code 60)
        REMOTE HANGUP: RSPREC error/got DCN (code 51)
