Your HylaFAX server must be started with the old protocol enabled
on the proper port, which is, I believe, 4557 (would have to look).
Normally, that's done by:
  
        hfaxd -o 4557 ...
  
You can try to see what's going on by doing this:

        telnet  4557

If you get a "Connection refused", then your server isn't running
right.  If you don't, then somethings wrong with your Mac client
configuration.  Email me privately about that, since I doubt
everybody here wants to know about MacFlex.
