[hylafax-users] Hylafax using LAN SIP trunks

Not sure why but I've never been able to confirm something. I've asked here as well so perhaps someone can enlighten me once and for all.
I started a thread asking if hylafax could be run on a stand alone server and what I mean by this is does asterisk have to be installed in order to use hylafax? It seems not but I've yet to come across anything that confirms how one would go about putting a server together that is just a hylafax server with an avantfax gui without asterisk.

From what I understand, the most confusing part to all who have taken on building such a server, has always been in getting the virtual modems working. In my case, I have a SIP gateway so am using IP on the LAN to get to the SIP gateway, which in turn is of course connected to PRI's.
This works perfectly with an asterisk/hylafax server but if I didn't need asterisk, since I'm not really using it, it would certainly lower the complexities of a server.

Could someone please shed some light on this for me.
