I found the problem.  It is the openSUSE init script that was never
updated.

If you edit /etc/init.d/hylafax and look at line 115 (in the do_start()
function), you will see that they still have the "-o" option in there
for hfaxd:

/sbin/startproc $HFAXD -i $FAXPORT -o 4557 -s $SNPPPORT \


Change that to:

/sbin/startproc $HFAXD -i $FAXPORT -s $SNPPPORT \

And it works.
