[hylafax-users] Error Converting Adobe Acrobat Files (PDF version 6,7,8,9)

I'm getting errors when trying to convert
Adobe Acrobat PDFs that are version 6, 7, 8, or 9.  PDF versions 4
and 5 convert okay.  All of my test files were created with Adobe
Acrobat.  pdf2ps only works with PDF versions 4 and 5 from the command
line.  pdftops works with all PDF versions (4,5,6,7,8, and 9).  I'm
using CentOS 5.5, HylaFAX+ 5.4.2 compiled from source, ghostscript 8.15.2-9.11.e15,
and ghostscript-fonts-5.50-13.1.1.  How do I tell Hylafax+ to use
"pdftops" instead of "pdf2ps" or how do I get "pdf2ps"
to work with all versions of Adobe Acrobat PDFs?
