Re: [hylafax-users] PS Driver for Win XP

Anyone has good recommendation for postscript driver running on Win XP ?

I have tried the classic Apple Laser Writter, HP LaserJet III, etc. All of them work to certain extent. For example, some will have problem with printing Chinese, some have margin problems. I don't know if the problem comes from the PS driver or the processing by HylaFAX.

I found the HP LaserJet IIIP PostScript Plus works fine for many cases. But, when printing some xls & doc files, the FAX received will have some lines appeared like "paper jam" in normal FAX machine. Do I need to adjust settings in the PS driver ?

With a Postscript viewer (such as GSview) you could examine the Postscript output from the print driver to determine whether the imaging problem is caused by the print driver or by HylaFAX's conversion of the Postscript file into a fax image.

If the problem rests with HylaFAX then the problem most likely rests ultimately upon Ghostscript, because HylaFAX uses Ghostscript in that capacity. If the imaging problem occurs when you use Ghostscript's 'ps2pdf' utility (and view the resulting PDF) then you'll want to update your Ghostscript. If the problem persists after the update then you'll want to file a bug with the Ghostscript developers.

Thanks,

Lee.
