Yes, I can control the modem via e.g. minicom.


When you say you call your number you get a busy...I assume you are
calling your number when attempting to send a fax?   If so, this
implies that the modem has gone 'off hook' and at least attempted to
do something..If so, this suggests an incorrect dial string.
Sorry I have no knowledge or experience with this modem.

Here is what I did: I have sent a fax to my own number (the number of the modem line), which obiously is busy when the modem is 'on hook'. This is detected correctly.
