Re: [hylafax-users] remote not supporting batches?

here's another problem, some remote give error when hylafax tries to
send more than one document (or so it seems). It seems that these fax
fails (and they're indeed sent three times before it's declared
failed) when in facts they maybe arrive correctly?
I'd like to understand what's going on, are all fax equipment supposed
to be batch capable?
See attached logs.
Sep 15 12:36:31.00: [ 5239]: No response to EOM repeated 3 tries
Sep 15 12:36:31.00: [ 5239]: The destination appears to not support
batching.
You should also notice that in the /var/spool/hylafax/info file that
corresponds to this destination that it is now marked
"supportsBatching:no". This should prevent it from sending in
batch-mode again to that destination. If you find that it repeatedly
tries EOM to that destination afterwards, then there is a bug in your
HylaFAX version. (Try HylaFAX+ 5.2.7 if so.)
Batching support is part of ITU T.30 (the fax protocol standard).
However, since it's a much less-frequently used feature, one that is not
often ever employed by many fax machines when sending... it's a feature
that isn't perfectly supported by all fax receivers. So HylaFAX tries
to detect these cases and avoid sending batches to them again.
Thanks,
Lee.
