Hi, I need to set up a fax server using Debian/Etch handling some 200-300 faxes per day. This should be done using an ISDN BRI card. I dimly remember that, in olden times, the AVM B1 was apparently considered the "holy grail" of ISDN faxing, but have never set it up, and also am a bit confused about what the right way to go is, these days, with vastly different Linux kernels. I'd like to know whether this is still the case, or whether cards like the Eicon DIVA, or the HFC cards, are better to use for such a task. The machine will not do very much work besides faxing, so if it's a question of CPU speed, the Core2Duo in the box should probably manage. Some advice about whether to try to talk directly to the card, try to use some CAPI stuff (mISDN?), or whether to prefer the Asterisk route which I have seen some talk about, would be really great! TIA! Kind regards, --Toni++ ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@xxxxxxxxxxx < /dev/null *To learn about commercial HylaFAX(tm) support, mail sales@xxxxxxxxx*
